Weezer- (Blue Album)

1994 saw the release of what was at the time a very different band. Weezer's self-titled debut album also known as "The Blue Album" was the type of thing that could have been easily a hit or miss. The first single "Buddy Holly" became a huge hit and known well for the video in which Weezer puts them self into an episode of the TV show Happy Days. This song was like nothing else on the radio at that time competing with bands like Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. It was sort of a 1950's rock n roll meets alternative meets emo. The type of music that you wouldn't think you would get into but then you realized you love it. That's how it was for me. The album contains a lot of other great songs like "Say It Ain't So", "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here", "My Name Is Jonas", "Only In Dreams", "In the Garage","No One Else","Surf Wax America", "Holiday" and "Undone - The Sweater Song".

This is a really cool band with some real enjoyable music. This album is definitely a classic from my younger years and it still stands today.

Album Quote:

"Only in dreams
We see what it means
Reach out our hands
Hold on to hers
But when we wake
It's all been erased
And so it seems
Only in dreams "
