Social Distortion - White Light White Heat White Trash
Some albums just rock out and don't give much of a message. It can be hard to find aan album that not only rocks out hard but that speaks to you and everything you going through in life. An album that makes you feel like somebody out there does understand. In 1996 Social Distortion released that album. Titled "White Light White Heat White Trash" this album was launched into the mainstream with the radio hit "I Was Wrong", a tale about a man who doesn't realized the wrong things he has done in his life until it is too late. This album is jam packed with songs that touch every emotion you can possibly have. from love, hate, depression, remorse and almost no happiness this album will in fact comfort you in those tough times. Singer Mike Ness delivers the lyrics of these songs in a masterful way. Mike Ness really makes you feel the words taht he is saying, You are not just listening to music you are seeing inside his soul. When I was finishing up high school and starting college I really was just starting to learn about life and that summer this music was there for me. Great tracks include "Dear Lover", "Through These Eyes", "Down on the World Again", "When the Angels Sing" and "Don't Drag Me Down". The album also includes a secret track where they cover the Rolling Stones hit "Under My Thumb", a really good cover.
Overall you should really own this album. Whether you are in a good place or a bad place in your life you will be touched by the music on this record.
Album Quote:
"How can you love when you don't love yourself?"
