Green Day - Dookie

Green Day brought punk rock back to the mainstream in 1994 when they released "Dookie". Everyone in my high school fell in love with this record. It's catchy rebellious tunes became instant hits and had Green Day selling out arenas instantly. The first single "Basketcase" became a monster hit and is now considered a classic. Songs like "Longview" which spoke about bordem and laziness and how to pass the time spoke to our generation and the things we were dealing with as teenagers. Other great tracks from this album include "Welcome to Paradise", "She", "When I Come Around" (One of Green Days Most Successful Tracks) and "F.O.D.". Overall this is a really cool album that should be owned by anyone who just loves really col music they can sing along to. This album will get you pumped up and will help you deal with some of your personal issues.

Album Quote:

"Let's nuke the bridge we torched 2,000 times before, this time we'll blast it all to hell"

Gosh, Dookie was such a great album!

My copy was acquired in such a random way when I was in 8th grade--I went to the Walt Whitman mall with a girl friend to meet some guys that she met online (on Prodigy), lol. I can't even believe it. I didn't even own a computer at that time.

One of the guys we met stole me a copy of Dookie from The Wall. And I became addicted.

And then the day I went to see their concert at the Nassau Collisseum was the same day as my first time trying a cigarette. Lots of Dookie memories. Haha.
