Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californication

Did you ever go to listen to an album and you thought that the band most likely had their best years behind them only to find out you were more wrong then you could ever imagine!
In the summer of 1999 I had one of those moments. i had always enjoyed the music of the RHCP but when I went the listening station at my local Sam Goody I really thought that I would either think that their at the time new album would either be pretty good, bad or just ok. However I started listening to the tracks and I was just blown away. Every song I went to was just brilliant. Every note every word was right on the mark. From Flea's bass lines, to Anthony's emotion in his voice to John's incomparable guitar riffs this album was destined to be a classic from the moment anyone first heard it. If any album reminds me of the summer of 1999 when I hadn't even turned 20 yet, this album takes me right back to that time. From the first 2 singles "Around the World" which is my current ringtone to "Scartissue" which is one of the coolest laid back songs going further to hits like "Otherside" and the title track "Californication" this is what a great album should sound like. The best part is that the RHCP don't sound like any other band. This means that instead of just getting another great rock album you get another great album that is different from everything else. In my opinion different , at least as long as its good stuff, is always a little better. Other songs that I really enjoy are "Porcelain", "Easily", "Get on Top" and "Parallel Universe".
If you are new to the RHCP or just never heard their music at all this is the first album I would recommend you add to your collection. These songs are already timeless and are still played on the radio today.
