Creed - My Own Prison
Creed came out with their first album in 1997 not thinking that within a few years they would become one of the biggest bands in the world. The first single "My Own Prison" hit rock radio and became a huge hit right away. Singer Scott Stapp's lyrics really struck a nerve with the emotions of that generation along with his strong vocals which many criticized him for trying to be Eddie Vedder which was not the case. Another one of my favorite Creed songs is "One", a song about trying to find peace in this world. Other great tracks include "Whats this Life For" and "Torn".
This is one of those bands and debut albums that come out right when the world needs them to. When nobody else is doing what they are doing. I have always enjoyed this music and its hard to believe this album came out over 10 years ago however I remember it like it was yesterday.
Album Quote:
" The world is headed for mutiny when all we want is unity, we may rise and fall but in the end we meet our fate together"
