Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik

The Red Hot Chili Peppers were one of the most if not the most unique bands to come out in the 80's. However it wasn't until their 1991 release "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" that I think people in the main stream actually knew who they were. The first single "Give it Away" took radio and MTV by storm. It mixed funk with rap and rock. It was the most original sound to hit main stream radio in a very long time. This album really exploded with tons of great singles such as "Breaking the Girl", "Suck My Kiss" and of course one of the biggest songs of the decade "Under the Bridge". "Under the Bridge" was a song which singer Anthony Keidas wrote about his years of drug abuse. Overall this album should be owned by any music fan looking for something heavily different to listen to. From the rap like vocals to Flea's funky bass riffs and John Frusciante's incredible guitar playing this album is a real mind pleaser.

Album Quote:
"I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day, take me to the place I love, take me all the way"
