Skid Row-(self-titled)

Hey my internets finally back up so here we go with another review. This week I'm reviewing the self-titled debut by a real kick ass band called Skid Row. This is a band I fell in love with right away. The band itself featured great musicians but most of all one of the best frontmen and lead singers in rock history Sebastian Bach. The first singles I ever heard from this album were "18 & Life" and "I Rememeber You". I was very impressed with the emotion generated by Bach's voice and the great lyrics to go along with it. "I Remember You" is a ballad that has become one of my all time fav's. It just has these amazing lyrics that were perfect for Bach's voice. It is a song that at a young age showed me a lot about what love is. Another one of my all-time fav's and probably their biggest song is "Youth Gone Wild". Still a fav of many today this song is just has so much energy & is so rebellious I can hardly believe it. This album almost contains not one bad song. It opens up with a real rocker "Big Guns" and continues on with great tracks like "Sweet Little Sister", "Make'in a Mess","Can't Stand the Heartache" and ends with a tremendous double track "Midnight/Tornado" which is very Judas Priest-like. I remember buying this cassete at an outdoor fleamarket after we moved to long Island. It was a purchase that helped shape my life.

Album Quote:

"Tequila in his heartbeat his face full of gasoline, it kept his motor runn'in but it never kept him clean"
